Health, Eating and Cooking
When you purchase nuts from us they will be freshly shelled. Store them in an air-tight container in the fridge until you are ready to eat them.
There are lots of ways to eat hazelnuts:
- Eat them raw as a healthy snack. Serve at room temperature.
- Dry roast them (in the oven at 160 C for 20-30 min., or in a skillet). Roasting enhances the flavour but slightly decreases the nutritional value. Hazelnuts should not be cooked in oil. If you prefer hazelnuts without their skins, they can be removed by gently rubbing the roasted nuts in a tea towel.
- Add roughly chopped nuts to your cereal.
- Use roasted nuts in salads.
- Use chopped nuts as a topping or coating instead of breadcrumbs.
COOKING

Hazelnut Oil
Our organic hazelnut oil is something very special. It is high in mono-unsaturated fat (the good sort of fat!) and is wonderful for the heart and the brain. One tablespoon also contains over half the recommended daily intake of Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol), which is an excellent anti-oxidant.
Hazelnut oil can be added to many dishes (cakes, for example), to smoothies, and makes a delicious salad dressing with lemon juice or vinegar.
We recommend storing the oil in cool, dark place, preferably the refrigerator. Use it or serve it at room temperature.
